Information that may be handled

This may include information supplied directly by email or correspondence; professional or business contact information used in connection with selective domain outreach; correspondence relating to domain enquiries or transactions; contact-preference information; limited technical information generated by the hosting environment; and the affiliate-redirect click statistics described below.

Affiliate links and click measurement

Some older YouTube descriptions and other published content link to RileyHolden.com addresses under /recommends/. Those addresses redirect to third-party merchants or affiliate networks. Riley may receive a commission if a visitor later completes a qualifying transaction.

The redirects are managed in WordPress using ThirstyAffiliates. Click statistics are enabled. The current configuration may record the affiliate link requested, date and time, IP address, browser or device information, and related technical data.

After the redirect, the destination merchant or affiliate network may process information under its own privacy notice.

Automatic trimming of ThirstyAffiliates statistics is currently disabled.

How information may be used

Information may be used to operate and protect RileyHolden.com; respond to enquiries; discuss a potential domain transaction; conduct selective, relevant business-to-business domain outreach; maintain accurate contact preferences; prevent unwanted repeat outreach; maintain and evaluate existing affiliate links; and resolve concerns or disputes.

Selective business outreach

Riley may contact a professional recipient where a domain name appears credibly relevant to that recipient’s organisation. Outreach is intended to concern a specific commercial opportunity rather than general consumer marketing.

Sources of professional contact information

Professional contact information used for selective business outreach may come from publicly available business or professional sources and, where applicable, business contact-data services used for research. Information may also come directly from the person concerned through email or other correspondence.

Legal basis

Where applicable, Riley relies on legitimate interests to operate and protect the website, respond to business enquiries, maintain commercial records, manage existing affiliate links, and conduct proportionate business-to-business outreach about a domain that appears commercially relevant. Where processing is necessary to take steps requested before a transaction or to perform an agreed transaction, that processing may be necessary for contractual purposes. Where another legal basis is required for a particular activity, that basis will be used as applicable.

Service providers and sharing

Hosting provider: Namecheap

Riley uses service providers for website hosting, business email, security and other necessary operational functions. RileyHolden.com is currently hosted through Namecheap, and business email is provided through Google-hosted infrastructure. The affiliate redirects are managed within the WordPress installation using ThirstyAffiliates.

Retention

Information is retained only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it is held. Business enquiries and transaction correspondence are kept while the matter remains relevant and for any reasonable follow-up or record keeping needed afterward. Contact-preference and suppression information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respect the request and prevent accidental repeat outreach. Affiliate click statistics may be retained while needed to reconcile commissions, maintain existing affiliate links and understand their performance. Those records should be reviewed periodically and deleted or aggregated when detailed information is no longer needed. Hosting and security logs are retained according to the operational and security practices of the relevant hosting provider.

International transfers

Some service providers used for website hosting, email or other necessary operations may process information in countries outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, the relevant provider arrangements and applicable safeguards are relied upon as appropriate.

Contact preferences and direct-marketing objections

You may ask Riley to stop or limit domain outreach at any time. Visit the contact-preferences page or email riley@rileyholden.com. Requests are handled manually. Where a preference is recorded, Riley may retain the minimum information needed to respect that preference and avoid contacting the same address again by mistake.

Individual rights

Depending on the law that applies, you may have rights concerning access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability. To ask about your personal information or preferences, email riley@rileyholden.com. You may also have the right to complain to the relevant data-protection authority.

Cookies and site measurement

This custom theme adds no advertising cookies, behavioural analytics or session-replay software. The existing /recommends/* affiliate system does record the click statistics described above. WordPress, the hosting infrastructure and destination services may use technologies necessary for their own operation.

Changes to this notice

The notice may be updated when the site, outreach practices, affiliate arrangements, service providers, or applicable requirements change. The effective date shown above identifies the current published version.
